Obituary in Moberly Paper: Mrs Mary Hess, 47, mother of twelve children, died htis morning a 6:30 at hre home three miles southwest of Moberly. She had been seriously ill for a week of a heart ailment. Besides her husband, Harve Hess, she is survived by twelve children, nine of whom are young and live at home, three sisters and six brothers. The children are Mrs Minnie Young and Henry Hess, California, Mo., and David, Alfred, Fred, Manning, Thomas, John, Richard, Edward, Norene and Edna Faye, of the home. The sisters are Mrs Millie Welch, of near Moberly, Mrs Isabel Welch, Huntsville, and Mrs Leona Welch, Hannibal. The three sisters married cousins of the same name. Mrs Hess' brothers are Tom and Willie Justus, Moberly and Robert, Pete, Earl and Jim Justus of Quincy, Ill. Burial in Hagar Cemetery. Information from Death Certificate: She was a housewife, 46 years 2 months abd 4 days old at the time of her death. Parents are Sam and Tillie Baker Justus. Cause of death Myocarditis. States she was born in 1886 but headstone is 1885?
