The following obituary was published in the Rosenberg Herald on September 23, 1943: "Mrs. Louise Kramer" Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Kramer, were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kramer, Tuesday, Sepember 21, 1943, at 2 p.m. and from the Immanuel's Evangelical Church in Needville at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Wm. Scholze, pastor, officiating. Interment took place in the Needville Public Cemetery. The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements. The following served as pallbearers: Pvt. Herbert Kramer, Pvt. Lee Roy Kramer, Pvt. Melvin Kramer, Edwin Kramer, Raymond Kramer and Elton Kramer. Mrs. Kramer passed away Sunday morning, September 19, 1943, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 12 days. On Wednesday preceding her death, she partook of the Holy Communion, desiring to strengthen her faith in her Lord and preparing herself for the end. She was a member of the Immanuel's Lutheran Church of Needville. Mrs. Louis Kramer (nee) Kaskamp (*) was born on August 7, 1861 in Avenkamp, Westphalia, Germany. There she was baptized and confirmed. In 1880 she came to America, settling near Brenham, Washington County, Texas, where she met Mr. William Kramer and was married to him on December 10, 1882. God blessed their marriage with 7 children. Five sons and two daughters. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death. In 1904, she came with her husband and family to Fort Bend county, and settled in the Needville community where she lived until her death. Those surviving her and sorrowing her departure are: 5 sons, Messrs. Louis, Fritz, Henry, Will and Gus Kramer; 1 daughter, Miss Bertha Kramer; 24 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Seven of her grandchildren are in the service of their country, three of whom are overseas. Mrs. Kramer was a devoted Christian and was loved by all of her acquaintances. Her host of friends sorrow in her departure and extend sympathy to the bereaved. * * * (* - Her maiden name was Gaskamp.) ~ Louise Agnes Elisabeth Gaskamp was baptized August 11, 1861, and she was confirmed April 9, 1876, in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parish in Dielingen, Westphalia, Germany. Louise immigrated to Texas with her older brother, Wilhelm Gaskamp, and his family, and her younger sister, Sophie Gaskamp, in 1882. Louise Gaskamp married on December 9, 1882, in Washington County, Texas.
