Bio

Friedrich Heinrich David Gaskamp was born in Arrenkamp, Westphalia, Germany; he was the oldest son of Friedrich Heinrich Gaskamp and Marie Margarethe Elisabeth Vordemfeld. Henry Gaskamp was baptized September 16, 1849, and he was confirmed March 25, 1864, in the Lutheran Church Parish in Dielingen, Westphalia. Henry Gaskamp left Germany in 1867 and immigrated to the United States. His ship docked in New Orleans, and from there, Henry traveled up the Mississippi River and settled in St. Louis. Henry married Mary Kuntemeier on February 7, 1874, in St. Louis. ************************************************************************* FROM THE ST.
