Born to parents Andrew Landes and Anna Zobrist Landes on March 29, 1888. Sam married Elizabeth (Elsie) Nathalia Schmid on December 22, 1915 in Peoria, Illinois. They had the following children: Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Landes Luschen Streitmatter Sherman Frederick Landes Sylvia May Landes Faubel King Mabel Louise Landes Adams Martha Violet Landes Reeser Florence Marie Landes Mabee Bruce William Landes Raymond Robert Landes Dorothy Lucille Landes Krantz Gilbert Dean Landes Elsie Margaret Landes England Howard Henry Landes. Sam spent most of his adult life as a peddler in the Goodfield, Deer Creek, Eureka area and passed away on September 9, 1963. His funeral was attended by many who had been his loyal customers for many many years!
