Elizabeth A. Streitmatter, 83, died at 6:22 AM Monday, April 4, 2000, at Apostolic Christian Restmor. She was born September 4, 1916, in Goodfield, Illinois to Sam and Elsie Schmidt Landes, she married Wilbur ''Bill'' Luschen on June 3, 1947, in Bennington, Nebraska. He died in December 1968. She later married Everett Streitmatter on Dec. 7, 1970, in Peoria, Illinois. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steve Luschen and Don (Frankie) Luschen, one daughter, Mary Brown, three brothers, Bruce (Pat) Landes, Raymond (Catherine) Landes, and Gilbert (Barbara) Landes, six sisters, Mrs. John (Sylvia) King, Mrs. Harold (Violet) Reeser and Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Krantz, Mrs. Tom (Florence) Mabee, Mrs. Dick (Margaret) England, and Mabel Adams, 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She moved to Nebraska in 1947, where she lived in Bennington and Kennard and was active in managing the family farm. She also was a cook at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, and then moved to the Morton, Illinois area in 1969. She was a member of Madison Avenue United Methodist Church in Peoria, where she taught Sunday school and helped serve congregate meals. She also tutored children from Kingman Grade School in Peoria for many years. Published by The Peoria, IL Journal Star - April 6, 2000
