Elsie was born Elizabeth Nathalia Schmid on March 17, 1889 to parents Karl Schmid & Elisabeth Eglin Schmid in Muttenz, Switzerland. Elsie immigrated to The United States of America and arrived at Ellis Island April 1902. Elsie married Samuel Landes on December 22, 1915 in Peoria, Illinois.
