Bio

From The Wolbach Messenger, December 17, 1964, transcribed by Linda Berney: Stephen Bahensky, died Thursday night at St. Paul after a short illness. He was a long-time resident of Gage Valley community. Mr. Bahensky was born Aug. 1, 1880 the son of Joseph and Mary Bahensky at Crete. While a child, the family moved to Merrick County. He wed Ruby Kutch Feb. 24, 1908, at McMinnville, Ore. They came to Merrick County and farmed for five years before moving to Howard County. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Sen. Leroy Bahensky, St. Paul; Dr. M. D. Bahensky and Lyle Bahensky, Palmer; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Zuehlke, Palmer; a sister, Mrs. August Harshberger, Kingman, Ariz; ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.
