Bio

From The Palmer Journal, August 17, 1922, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mary M. Daich was born near Prague, Bohemia, June 24, 1841, and died at her home in Gage Valley, August 11, 1922, aged 81 years, 1 month and 24 days. In 1863 she was married to Joseph Bahensky. They came to America in 1869, locating at Crete, Nebraska, where they lived until 1885, when they moved to Merrick county. Twelve years ago they moved to Gage Valley where they have since resided. The deceased was the mother of eight children, two of whom preceded her in death. The surviving members of the family are Miss Anna, W. J., K. D., Joseph and Stephen Bahensky, all of whom live in this vicinity, and Mrs. Weldon Harshberger of Los Angeles, who with the husband, Joseph Bahensky, lament the loss of a faithful wife and loving mother. The funeral was held from the home Sunday, August 13, H. A. Wingard of the Christian Church officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery. (poem followed.)
