Lyle Bahensky, 92, of St. Paul died Monday Nov. 6, 2006 at home. Mr. Bahensky was born Sept. 24, 1914 at Palmer to Steve and Ruby (Kutch) Bahensky. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Vanice Bahensky; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Darlene Bahensky of St. Paul; a daughter and son-in-law; Arlene and Jim Frandsen of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, Melvin Bahensky, DVM; and a sister, Edna Zuehlke of St. Paul. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and an uncle, George Yates of Yamhill, Ore. He grew up in the Gage Valley area, where he attended grade school. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1932. On March 31, 1936 he was united in marriage to Vanice Vincik of Palmer. They were married in Council Bluffs, Iowa. All of their married life was spent in Gage Valley farming and drilling wells, with the exception of two years when Lyle had a logging business in Lorane, Ore. Lyle served on the Soil Conservation Board for 11 years and on the FHA board for two years. He was baptized and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, of which he was a trustee for several years. Lyle enjoyed his family and family get-togethers. He like fishing and hunting, having hunted in Colorado for many years. He and Vanice enjoyed traveling, having been in all 50 states.
