Bio
Herman Uptmore, 77, of 508 North Reagan in West, a retired farmer, died Monday morning in a Waco nursing home. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours; the Rev. Frank Miller was celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin’s Cemetery. Mr. Uptmore was born in Tours and had lived in the Tours and West areas all his life. He was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Angeline Uptmore; five sons, James H. Uptmore of San Antonio, Ted J. Uptmore of West, Pat M. Uptmore of Lacy-Lakeview, David Uptmore of Houston and Alan Uptmore of Tours; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Carol Ann) Beard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Frank Uptmore of Pleasanton; three sisters, Mrs. Agatha Deiterman and Mrs. Theresa Rauschuber, both of West, and Mrs. Louis (Teillie) Deiterman of Temple; 27 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
