Bio

She was the daughter of Frank and Agatha Poschner Guggenberger. Her father died when she was 12 and her mother later married Joseph Hofbauer in 1883. She married Anton Uptmor on November 24, 1891. They were the parents of 9 children. Her mother died in 1899. Since her husband Anton was afraid of death, she watched from her living room window as the wagon carrying her mother went by on the way to the cemetery. After her mother died, Joseph married Louisa Wanke. They had 6 children and Otillia and Anton were godparents to all six children. Mrs. Ottilia Uptmor, 87, died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday at her daughter's home in West. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Church at Tours. Father John T. Geiser officiating, burial in St. Martin's Cemetery at Tours. Survivors: Four sons, Joe Uptmor of Route 6, Waco; Frank Uptmor of Pleasanton, Texas, Robert Uptmor of New Orleans, La., Herman Uptmor, Route 2, West; three daughters, Mrs. Edward A. Deiterman of West, Mrs. L. H. Deiterman of Temple, Mrs. Theodore Rauschuber of Gainesville. Aderhold-Moore Funeral Home, West.
