Mrs. Angeline (Vrba) Uptmore, age 89 of Northcrest passed away July 17, 1996 at her residence. Rosary was recited July 20 in St. Martin's Catholic Church with Deacon Benny Cepak. Mass of Christian Burial was July 20 in St. Martin's Catholic Church with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Uptmore was born March 3, 1907 in Tours. She attended St. Martin's School and Four-C Business College. She was employed in Waco by Dr. and Mrs. James Herrick, General Tire and Rubber Co. and Goldsteins. She married Herman Uptmore on August 26, 1930 at St. Martin's Church. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Clarence Anthony and by her husband, Herman, who died February 23, 1981. Mrs. Uptmore was a life long Catholic, a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours and St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Bellmead. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Martin's, the K.J.T. Lodge and a kitchen volunteer for many Tours picnics. Angeline and Herman raised their family on the Anton and Otillia Uptmore homestead which is still owned by the Uptmore family members. She was a loving and caring mother, dedicated to religious and educational training. She was a proud Aggie Mom. Mrs. Uptmore is survived by five sons: James H. (Jim) Uptmore of San Antonio, Ted J. Uptmore of West, Pat M. Uptmore of Northcrest, David J. Uptmore of Houston and Alan R. Uptmore of Tours; one daughter, Carol Ann (Sissy) Beard of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three brothers, Ermin Vrba of Sherman, Ben A. Vrba of Tours and Stanley Vrba of West; one sister, Georgia Howell of Garland; three sister-in-laws, Eleanor Vrba, Estelle Vrba and Theresa Rauschuber of West; 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Ted J. Uptmore, Jr., Chris Uptmore, James H. Uptmore, Jr., Mike Beard, Raymond Alan Uptmore, Jr., and David J. Uptmore, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Grandsons, granddaughters and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the CCD program of St. Martin's and/or St. Joseph's Churches. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
