Bio

Frank Polansky, 69, Buried Wednesday Frank Charles Polansky, 69-year-old West farmer, died in a Waco hospital Monday suffering from pneumonia and other complications. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.J. Polcak and Rev. Werner Bockholt at West Church of the Assumption Wednesday morning. Rosary had been recited at Aderhold Chapel Tuesday evening. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Polansky, a native of Frenstat, Moravia, came to the United States when he was 5 years old with his parents, John and Johana Smajstrla Polansky. The family settled on the old McLennan place near Tours and Mr. Polansky had made the West Community his home since that time. In 1909, he married Victoria Snokhous. Mrs. Polansky survives her husband. They and their family had made their home just south of the Czech-Moravian Brethren Church for the past 29 years. Mr. Polansky was noted in the West territory for his binding and thrashing work, a service he carried on with the aid of his sons. The old thrasher he began working with in 1919 still stands at the homeplace. His hobby was carpentry and cabinetry-making, a skill he excelled in. He was a member of St. Joseph's KJT Society of the Church of the Assumption. Mr. Polansky became ill about 3 weeks ago and was confined to a Waco hospital a week before his death. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Frank Polansky of West; four sons, John, George, Jimmy of West, Alphonse of San Antonio; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Brem of West, Miss Frances Polansky of West, Mrs. Jerry Kocurek of Abbott, Mrs. Vitus Kolar of Waco; a brother, John Polansky, Sr. of West; nine grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. John Kubacak, passed away in March, 1954. Pallbearers were Frank J. Polansky, John W. Kubacak, John R. Rejcek, Jerry Pustejovsky, Jerry Snokhous, and Alphonse Kral.
