Bio

George R. Polansky, age 81 of West, passed away Sunday morning in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption. Mass was celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Military Graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #4819 followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Polansky was born April 8, 1921 in West and had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a retired farmer, a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West and the 50/50 Club of the church, a member of KJT #31, Knights of Columbus Council #2305, SPJST Lodge #6 and a veteran of World War II having served in the Army, and a member of VFW Post #4819. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Frankie and John Polansky and a sister, Frances Polansky. Mr. Polansky is also survived by two brothers, Alphonse Polansky of San Antonio and Jimmy Polansky of West; three sisters, Mary Brem of Alabama, Ruth Kocurek and Rosalie Kolar, both of West; a sister-in-law, Mrs. John (Christine) Polansky of West and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers were Charlie Kolar, Harry Kolar, Ed Klish, Frank Cinek, David Polansky and Dustin Webb. Honorary Pallbearers were members of VFW Post #4819 of West.
