Mrs. Joe (Marie) Gaidusek, 76, of Route 1, West, died Friday afternoon, June 6, 1980 in a Waco hospital after suffering injuries Friday in a two-car, head-on collision on Interstate 35 near Elm Mott. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's, the Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Gaidusek was born June 2, 1904 in Fayette County and lived in the West area most of her life. She married Joe Gaidusek in 1924. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West and had memberships in the Ladies' Altar Society, the KJT Society, the CDA Court and the St. Cecelia's Choir of that church. She was an associate member of SPJST Lodge No. 66 of Waco. She worked for White's (formerly Kellner's) Auto Store in West for more than 20 years and was a cook for West Independent School District for five years. She is survived by her husband, Joe Gaidusek of West; two sons, Johnnie J. Gaidusek, Sr. and Bernard Gaidusek, both of Waco; a daughter, Clara Mae Farmer of Arlington; a brother, Ed Zatopek of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Lowenstein of Houston and Mrs. Lillian Brooks of Texarkana, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnnie Gaidusek, Jr., Tommie Gaidusek, Kenneth Ray Farmer, Royce Zatopek, Jimmie Bezdek and Ray E. Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Directors and Officers of R.V.O.S.
