Joe Gaidusek, age 78, of Rt. 1, West, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Saturday in a Waco Nursing Home. He was a native of West and had lived in the West area all his life. He was a retired dairy farmer and drove a school bus for the West Independent School District for several years. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, a 50 year member of SPJST Lodge #66 and RVOS #109 of Waco. He married Marie Zatopek November 11, 1924 and she preceded him in death June 6, 1980. He is survived by two sons, Johnnie J. Gaidusek, Sr. of 5218 Lochmond Dr. in Waco and Bernard Lee Gaidusek of 125 Oak in Bellmead; One daughter, Mrs. Clara Mae Farmer of Arlington; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were members of the SPJST Lodge . Pallbearers were Johnnie J. Gaidusek, Jr., Tommy Gaidusek, Kenneth Ray Farmer, Royce Zatopek, Jimmy Bezdek and Harry Urbanovsky. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 91, No. 6, Edition 1, Thursday, February 12, 1981, page 5.
