West Couple Killed In Auto-Interurban Crash Mr. and Mrs. John Bezdek Killed In Crash; Two Daughters Near Death Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bezdek, prominent farm couple living near this city were killed Tuesday afternoon when a northbound interurban was in collision with their automobile at a crossing two blocks south of the interurban station. Mrs. Bezdek was killed instantly, her husband dying at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in a Waco hospital. Other occupants of the car, Misses Lillian and Rosie Bezdek, are in grave condition at the Providence Hospital in Waco. The tragedy occurred as the Bezdek family returned to town after attending services here at the Catholic Church. Witnesses said the interurban struck the automobile broadside and shoved it almost half a block down the track before stopping. Mr. Bezdek was driving the automobile, none of the passengers being thrown from the car. A double funeral service will be held from the Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating. Interment will be at the Catholic cemetery. Latest information concerning the two daughters injured in the crash state that Miss Rosie Bezdek, 21, was in grave condition, while Miss Lillian Bezdek, 13, was reported holding her own. The Bezdeks are survived by 11 children; the two daughters who were injured; John and Jim, both of whom are in the army; Sister Alice Marie, a nun, of San Antonio; Miss Wilma Bezdek of Austin; Miss Mary Bezdek of Dallas; Mrs. Bessie Lichnovsky of West; Misses Josephine and Helen Bezdek of West; Harry of West. Mrs. Bezdek is survived by two brothers, L.W. Kallus and Frank Kallus of West, and two sisters, Mrs. John Stanislav of West, Mrs. Robert Hanak of Hallettsville. Mr. Bezdek is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Alois Sykora of Mt. Calm, Mrs. C.Y. Sulak and Mrs. Jos. Kotrla of West, and Sister Olivie, a nun, of Oklahoma; two brothers, Joseph and Charlie Bezdek, of West.
