Rudolph A. Stanislav, 72, of West died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in a Marlin hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, in West. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Stanislav operated a grocery in West for many years. He was a director of West Bank and Trust and had farming interests. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and West Knights of Columbus Council 2305. Mr. Stanislav was a veteran of World War I. He was a past member of VFW Post 4819. Mr. Stanislav served six terms as City Commissioner of West, from 1935 until he retired in 1947. Survivors include three sons, Leonard Stanislav of Sherman, Rudolph Stanislav, Jr. with the U.S. Air Force in Ohio, Norbert Stanislav with the U.S. Marines in San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Jane Stanislav and Miss Joanna Stanislav, both of West; a brother, August Stanislav of West; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Opella and Miss Bertha Stanislav, both of West; eight grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Stanislav, Jerry Stanislav, Arthur Marak, Henry Rydel, C. W. Cernosek, all of West, and Jody Stanislav of Waco.
