Frank Makovy, 71, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in a Waco hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Ralph Brennan officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at West. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Connally Funeral Chapel. Mr. Makovy was born in Aquilla and had lived in the Waco and West area all of his life. He was a retired carpenter and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Edward Makovy of Mount Calm, Joe Makovy of Waco, Bill Makovy of Houston, and Frank Makovy, Jr. of Tahoka; four daughters, Mrs. Jodie (Sophie) Young of Waco, Mrs. Fr. Losak, Mrs. Daniel Straten of Elm Mott, and Mrs. George Veselka of Waco; his mother, Mrs. Joe Makovy, Sr. of West; one brother, Joe Makovy of Abbott; four sisters, Mrs. Sophia Beseda of Abbott, Mrs. Mary Marek and Miss Willie Mae Makovy, both of West, and Mrs. Christine Rejcek of Penelope; and 16 grandchildren.
