Bio
Frank P Makovy was born January 29, 1923 to Julie Mynar and Frank Makovy, Sr. in West, Texas. Frank married Vlasta Urbanovsky on September 11, 1943. They moved to West Texas in 1944 to farm for the Macha family. Frank farmed cotton for Mr. Macha, Sr., and his son, Felix Macha for 35 years. Frank Makovy was a member of Christ the King Catholic Cathedral, Lubbock, Texas since 1970. Survivors include his wife, Vlasta; his two daughters, Debbie Schuknecht of Seattle, Wash. and Betty Powers of Lubbock; his three sisters, Lois Veselka, and Mary Stratten, Lillie Losak; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at Sanders Funeral Home, 1420 Main Street, Lubbock at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Cathedral, 4011 54th St. Donations in Frank Makovy's memory may be made to Christ the King Catholic Cathedral, 4011 54th St, Lubbock, Texas 79423.
