Mrs. Sophie Beseda, age 87 of Route 2, Abbott, died Saturday, October 19, in Hillsboro. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbott. Rev. William Spong was the celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Beseda was born February 17, 1898 in Aquilla and had lived in the Abbott-West area all her life. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She married John F. Beseda on November 21, 1916. He preceded her in death, April 3, 1935. She is survived by two sons, Henry Beseda of Penelope and Joe Beseda of Lubbock; one daughter, Mrs. Victor (Mary Ann) Pavlas, Jr. of Abbott; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Marek of West, Mrs. Christine Rejcek of Penelope and Miss Willie Mae Makovy of West; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Larry Beseda, Tommy Neill, Charles Beseda, Mark Psencik, Mike Kasberg and James Beseda. Honorary pallbearers were: Henry Beseda, Jr., Bill Beseda, Kyle Fahrenthol, Steve Erickson, Jay Towe, John Beseda and Joe Beseda.
