Bio
Willie Mae Makovy, age 97 of West, passed away May 15, 1999 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center at West. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. May 17 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. May 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Miss Makovy was born January 17, 1902 in Aquilla and had lived in Hill and McLennan County all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the K.J.Z.T. Society #11, and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She was employed at Sulak's Cafe and Kolacek's Kolache Kitchen for a number of years. She was a resident of West Rest Haven for the past nine years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Beseda, Johnny Marek, Marvin Matus, Lawrence Rejcek, Ed Makovy and Jimmy Kolacek. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
