Bio

Agnes C. Kubala, age 88, of 300 Haven in West, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 26, 1989, at West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Kubala was born August 12, 1901, in West, the daughter of Ernest and Frances Nemecek. She married Dr. Joe R. Kubala on November 15, 1927. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1968. She worked for Nemecek Brothers Meat Market in West from 1943 to 1968. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the West Community Hospital and the West Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the Altar Society. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Evelyn Kubala of Eureka, California; two brothers, Raymond Nemecek and Ed Nemecek, both of West; one sister, Christine Hruska of West; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Edd Kubala, Jerome J. Lednicky, Jr., Edwin Gerik, Jerry Gerik, Robert Zahirniak, and Albin Karlik.
