Requiem Mass Held Wed. For Dr. J.R. Kubala Dr. Joseph R. Kubala, 67, apparently suffered a heart attack about 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 27, while shopping at Monnig's in downtown Waco, and was pronounced dead after being taken to a Waco hospital. Rev. Bohumil Hruby of Penelope recited the Rosary at Aderhold Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. George Doskocil officiated at the Requiem Mass at the Church of the Assumption at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Sermon was given by Rev. W. Pechal of Abbott. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Dr. Kubala has practiced dentistry in Hubbard for about 20 years, and then in West and Whitney for 23 years before retiring because of his health about two years ago. He was a native of Taylor and a 1925 graduate of Baylor School of Dentistry. He had served as secretary general of the Sixth District Dental Society for 25 years. He married Miss Agnes Nemecek in West in 1927. Dr. Kubala was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, KJT Lodge No. 36, and SPJST Lodge No. 54, all in West. He is survived by his wife; one son, Walter J. Kubala of Eureka, Calif., four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dr. B. D. Pierce, Mr. Jerome Kopecky, Mr. Eugene Kubala, Mr. Eddie Kubala, Mr. Harry Bezdek, and Mr. Erich Rainsch. Many memorial contributions were made by Dr. Kubala's friends to the West Hospital Authority and West Hospital Auxiliary.
