Requiem Mass Said Saturday For Wm. Gerik William Gerik, 67, of Route 1, West, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, in a Hillsboro hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Rev. George Doskocil was the celebrant with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday in Kotch Funeral Chapel. Mr. Gerik was born in Fayetteville and had lived in West 63 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He also was a member of the SPJST Lodge 54. Survivors include his wife, Amalie Gerik; five sons, Johnny Gerik of Arlington, Ben Gerik, Frank Gerik and Marvin Gerik, all of Route 1, West, and Daniel Gerik of West; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Nestra of Abbott, Miss Irene Gerik and Miss Mary Jane Gerik, both of Route 1, West; three brothers, John Gerik of Abbott, Anton Gerik of Route 1, West, and Emil Gerik of Aquilla; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Marak of West, Mrs. Sophie Macicek of Galveston, and Miss Albina Gerik of Route 1, West; and nine grandchildren.
