Bio
Mary Jane Gerik, 69, of Waco, formerly of West, passed away Thursday, March 29, at a Waco nursing home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Rosary and Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Miss Gerik was born February 11, 1938, in West and lived there most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, KJZT Society #11 and graduated from St. Mary's School in West. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Amalie Karlik Gerik; brothers, Daniel, Frankie, Joseph and Edward Gerik; sister, Irene Gerik; and sister-in-law, Nona Jean Gerik. Mary Jane is survived by brothers, Johnny Gerik and wife, Evelyn of West, Bernard Gerik of Waco and Marvin Gerik of West; sister, Mrs. Ed "Doris" Nesrsta of Abbott; sister-in-law, Henrietta Gerik of West; and several nieces and nephews.
