From The West News May 23, 1996 page 6 Anne Mae Cernosek Anne Mae Cernosek, age 86 of 400 Austin in Waco, formerly of West, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 16, 1996 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 11a.m. May 18 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:15 a.m. May 18 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West with the Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Cernosek was born August 16, 1909 in West and had lived in Garland from 1956 to 1974 at which time she moved back to West, and had lived at the Regis in Waco since 1985. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of West and the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 of West. She was employed at the Garland-Speegle Clinic in Garland for 13 years. She married John F. Cernosek, October 21, 1929. He preceded her in death February 4, 1972. Survivors include four sons; C.W. Cernosek and wife Margie of West, Johnny Cernosek and wife Jan of Rt. 2 West, William Cernosek and wife Edwina of Garland and Edward Cernosek of Garland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ben and Edith Cernosek and sister-in-law Ida Karlik; 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were C.W. Cernosek, Jr., Richard Cernosek, Donald Cernosek, E.J. Cernosek, Billy Cernosek, Bernard Cernosek, John David Cernosek, Charles Cernosek, Kenny Harmon, Tommy Bartosh, David Crain, Dean McGuire and Richard Freeman, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Regis-St. Elizabeth Center or the West Volunteer Ambulance Association. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
