From The West News Feb. 11, 1972 page 1 Garland Man, John F. Cernosek, Dies; Rites Held John Frank Cernosek, 64, of Garland, a former West resident, died Friday morning in a Garland hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Williams Chapel. Requiem Masses were held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, with Rev. Carl Vogel and Rev. Robert Sykora as celebrants, and at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Assumption at West, with Rev. Earl Hedberg as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West. Mr. Cernosek was born in Ammansville in 1907. He was a machinist at Intercontinental Manufacturing Company in Garland. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 2305 in West and member of the K.J.T. Lodge in Abbott. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anne Mae Cernosek of Garland; four sons, C.W. Cernosek of West, Johnny Cernosek, Bill Cernosek and Edward Cernosek, all of Garland; two brothers, Ivan Cernosek of Dallas and Ben Cernosek of West; 15 grandchildren. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Pallbearers were Marvin Gerik and Daniel Gerik of West, Bobby Karlik of Arlington, Leonard Stanislav of Plano, Edwin Gerik of Whitney and Bobby Cernosek of Dallas.
