Mrs. Karlik's Rites Held in West Mrs. Elizabeth Karlik, 93, of West, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, in the West hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Rev. George Doskocil was celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Karlik was born in Czechoslovakia and had lived in the West area for 83 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, the Altar-Rosary Society and the KJZT Society No. 11. Mrs. Karlik's husband, Cyrill Karlik, died in 1962. She is survived by two sons, Frank Karlik, Sr., of Route 1, West, and Albin Karlik of West; four daughters, Mrs. Emil (Mary) Gerik of Abbott, Mrs. Will (Mollie) Gerik of Route 1, West, Miss Agnes Karlik and Mrs. John (Annie Mae) Cernosek, both of West; 31 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jerry Gerik, Edwin Gerik, Johnny Gerik, Robert Karlik, C.W. Cernosek, and Carlton Karlik. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 83, No. 46, Edition 1, Friday, March 1, 1974, page 4.
