Bio

Henry S. Beseda, Sr., 65, of Rt. 1 in Penelope, died Sunday morning June 26, 1988 at West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:3 p.m. June 27 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott by Rev. Gary Geurtz. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. Publius Xuereb as celebrant. Burial followed in Fatima Cemetery in Abbott. Mr. Beseda was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Penelope, where he lived all of his life. On May 2, 1949, he married Christine Hynek in West. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Beseda was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he served on the parish council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2305 of West, and KJ Society 107 of Abbott. Mr. Beseda served on the Birome Water Supply Corp. board of directors and on the Penelope Independent School District board of trustees. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Charles Beseda, William J. Beseda, Henry Beseda, Jr. and Joe Beseda, all of Route 1 in Penelope, and John Beseda of Route 2 in West; seven daughters, Mrs. Janice Veselka, Mary Beseda, Christine Beseda, Helen Beseda, Margaret Beseda and Jo Ann Beseda, all of Route 1 in Penelope, and Mrs. Frances McConnell of Kingwood; a brother, Joe Beseda of Lubbock; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Pavlas of Abbott; and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Larry Beseda, Frankie Polansky, Jimmy Polansky, Larry Hynek, Jimmy Svrcek, and Bill Dvoracek.
