The Hastings Daily Tribune (Hastings, NE), Thursday, February 5, 1931; pg. 2 VAP - HAJNY DEWEESE, Feb. 5 - Miss Margaret Vap and Edward Hajny were married Tuesday morning at Louchky (sic) Church. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vap and a wedding dance was held in Community Hall in the evening. The couple will live on one of the groom's father's farms north of town. =============================================== The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Thursday, September 20, 1973; pg. 1 Edward Hajny Dies— Edward J. Hajny, 72, of near Edgar passed away Monday at Mary Lanning hospital (sic) in Hastings. Born in Esmond (sic), Kans., he was raised in the Fairfield community. He farmed southwest of Fairfield until 1940 when he moved to the Edgar community. Mr. Hajny attended Hasting College, the Grand Island Business School and the University of Nebraska. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sutton. Rosary service was held Tuesday at the McLaughlin Funeral Home in Clay Center and services were Wednesday at St. Marys' Church in Sutton with Rev. Clement Siwinski officiating. Burial was in St. Martin cemetery at Deweese. Mr. Hajny is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Janet Hajny of Edgar and Mrs. Delores Utecht of Hastings; sons, Alvin, Lilburn, David, Robert and Rolland of Clay Center and Lanuel of Hastings; a brother, Charles of Portland, Ore. and 12 grandchildren.
