The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Thu. May 5,1966 - Pg 4 Obituary, Hajny-- Mrs. Anns Hajny, who was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. On July 24, 1869, passed away at her home in Hastings on April 11, 1966. Rosary was recited for the deceased Wednesday, with requiem high mass at St. Martin's Catholic Church near Deweese on Thursday, April 14. Father Frank Lieblinger officiated at the service. Mrs. Hajny came with her parents to the United States when still an infant and settled at Linwood. She grew up there and was married to James Hajny in 1891 at Linwood. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Hajny moved to Esbon, Kan., where they lived until 1906 when they moved to near Fairfield where they farmed until '63. Mrs. Hajny lived in Fairfield after the death of her husband, later living in Clay Center. The last three years were spent in Hastings. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents and two sons, Emil in 1928 and Frank in 1950. Surviving are her sons, Vas Hajny of Hastings, John of Fairfield, Ed of Edgar and Charles of Portland, Ore.; 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. McLaughlin Funeral Home was in charge of services. Pallbearers were: Emil Hajny and Ray Brandt of Hastings, William Mazour of Lawrence, Ed Lipovsky of Fairfield and Lilburn and Alvin Hajny of Clay Center.
