The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Thu. - Jul 6 1967 - Page 4 Obituary, Hajny, Services for Vas F. Hajny were held in St, Ceceila's Church with Father Patrick Lyons officiating. Emil, John Jr., Lanuel, Lilburn Hajny, Ray Mertens and William Mazour were the pallbearers. Burial was in St. Martin's church (sic) yard cemetery (sic) at Deweese, where the veterans of World War I and and members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars conducted military rites. Elton Pounds, Carl Coonc, Carl Pfeiffer, Ralph Nicholas, Leo Eggert, Rex Averill and Walter Fergus were the color bearers and Wayne DuBose, Ralph McCune, George Souders and Cecil Reichstein were member of the color guard. The firing squad was composed of C. R. Bixby, Jacob Hoff, Otis Menter, James Giffin, Clifford Lewis, A. B. Harper, George Derich and L R Sanders. Louis Goldenstein and John A. Scholz, folded the American flag and presented it to the Hajny family and Jacob Schreiner sounded Taps. Henry W. Frisch was patriotic instructor in charge of ceremonies. Before moving to Hastings the Hajny family lived on a farm near Fairfield
