The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Friday, November 2, 1928; pg. 1 Emil Hajny Dies Emil Hajny prominent young farmer living north east of Spring Ranch passed away suddenly in the hospital at Fairfield on Thursday night, October 25th. Mr. Hajny had undergone an operation for sinus trouble some months ago and while he was ill at times, his death was entirely unexpected and was a terrible shock to his family and friends. Mr. Hanjy who was about 26 years old was married in the fall of 1923 to Miss Emma Peter of Lawrence, who with their four year old daughter, survives. He was an honest, industrious young man with a fine reputation and the bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of the community. ====================== The Fairfield Auxiliary (Fairfield, NE), Thursday, November 1, 1928; pg. 8 EMIL HAJNY DIES SUDDENLY Emil Hajny passed away very suddenly last Thursday after a short illness with abscess on the brain. He was brought to the hospital in Fairfield and Dr. McPherson of Hastings and Dr. Rider of Glenvil were called in consultation, but he passed away before anything could be done. He was a young man of 28 years and leaves a wife and daughter and other relatives, besides a host of friends. Hajny was born October 11, 1900, at Esbon, Kansas, and died October 25, 1928, at Fairfield hspital. He moved with his parents from Esbon December 25, 1906, to south of Fairfield. On November 20, 1923, he was united in marriage to Emma Peter of Lawrence and then they made their home four miles southwest of Fairfield. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, one little daughter, four years old, parents, five brothers and a host of relatives and friends. He has always been a loyal Catholic, true to his religion. A loving and attentive husband and father. Services were at Assumption Church and burial at Lawrence Cemetery.
