Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Friday, November 23, 1923; pg. 1 Double Wedding A double wedding took place at Sacred Heart church (sic) Tuesday morning last when John Hajny and Christina Petr, and Amiel Hajny and Emma Petr, were united in marriage by the Rev. Chas. Becker. The brides are sisters and the grooms are brothers. A wedding dance was held at Deweese in the evening. The brides are both estimable young ladies, daughters of Mr and Mrs Frank Petr. The bridegrooms are prosperous young farmers residing in southern Clay county (sic). ======================== The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Thursday, August 31, 1967; pg. 6 John J. Hajny Dies — John J. Hajny, well known southern Clay county (sic) farmer, was buried last Wednesday morning, following services at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a native of Jewell county (sic), Kan. but had lived in the Fairfield community 55 years before retiring. Monsignor Sylvester Wagner officiated at the requiem mass. Burial was in St. Martin's cemetery (sic) at Deweese, with Fr. Frank Lieblinger officiating. The rosary was recited at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center Tuesday evening. The immediate family consists of a son, John, Jr. of the Fairfield community; and daughters, Mrs. Raymond Mertens of Sutton, Mrs. Edward Lipovsky of Fairfield; ten grandchildren and brothers, Ed of Edgar and Charles of Portland, Ore.
