Hastings resident, Lanuel “Lanny” Hajny, 79, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska. Services will be Saturday, March 28, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings, with Pastor Cindy Karges officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Lanny was born on September 4, 1935 in Fairfield, Nebraska to Edward & Margaret (Vap) Hajny. He graduated in 1954 from Clay Center High School. On February 6, 1960 he married Alyce Faye Richards and moved to Hastings, Nebraska. Lanny was a used car dealer at Hajny Auto Sales, and was a member of the Eagles and Grace United Methodist Church. He is remembered for his race car driving in his #1 car. He enjoyed the outdoors, exotic animals and watching football. Lanny was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David Hajny and Alvin Hajny.
