Bio

The Deweese Booster (Deweese, NE), Friday, May 26, 1916; pg. 5 WEDDING Tuesday morning at the St. Martins church (sic) occured (sic) the marriage of Miss Mary Mazour to Frank Hajny. The services ware read by Father Topecky in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends. The father gave the contacting parties a very instructive sermon on starting out on the voyage of this life. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white satin messaline (sic), trimmed with silk over lace and pearls. Her attendance were Miss Svoboda, Mary Palvaka, Mary Mazour and Mrs. Fainion, matron of honor. The groom was attended by his best man, Mr. Frank Karmazine (sic). After the ceremony the bridal party was received at the home of the bridal's parents, where a reception was given, and an elaborate wedding dinner was served to a large concourse of people followed by the wedding dance. The music was furnished by the Hajny Band. The young couple will reside on a farm three miles north of Deweese where everything is in readiness, they carry with them best wishes for a happy prosperous wedded life from a host of friends. ======================= The Fairfield Auxiliary (Fairfield, NE), Thursday, December 7, 1950; pg. 1 Frank Hajny, son of James and Anna Hajny, was born January 1, 1893, at Linwood, Nebr. At the age of 5, he and his parents moved to Esbon, Kansas. Later, he and his parents and younger brothers moved to a farm southwest of Fairfield, Nebr. He was united in marriage May 24, 1916 with Mary Mazour and lived on a farm 1 mile west of Fairfield until his death. To this union were born three sons. He passed away November 24, 1950, at the age of 57 year and 10 months. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mary; and three sons, Emil of Hastings, Nebr., Edmond of Lakewood, Ohio, Richard of Corvallis, Oregon; his mother, Anna Hajny of Fairfield; and four brothers, Vas and John of Fairfield, Edward of Edgar, and Charles of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends, who all like him. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Emil. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Assumption Catholic Church of Deweese. The Rev. Gregory Petrus officiated with burial at St. Martins cemetery (sic) at Loucky. The pall bearers were his nephews, John Hajny, Jr., Lilburn Hajny, Raymond Brandt, Edward Lipovsky, William Mazour, and Leighton Mazour. The road into sunset is one we each must tread, And tho it brings us sorrow when a loved one goes ahead; Still there is comfort knowing we shall meet again some day, When grief and pain are over, and the clouds have rolled away
