The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, December 9, 1976; pg. 1 Funeral services for Sylvester Schumm, 48, of Rosemont were held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, Lawrence. The Rev. Ed Stander officiating. Burial with military rites was made in St. Stephen's cemetery (sic). Rosary was recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Stephen's church (sic). Schumm, a native of the Lawrence community, died Wednesday at his home near Rosemont. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Adeline Schumm of Blue Hill; brothers, LeRoy, Leonard and Gilbert, all of Blue Hill, and William of Hastings; and sisters, Eileen Wescoat of Lexington, Lorene Klein and Josephine Mangers, both of Roseland, Alvira Kathman of Blue Bill, Betty Classen of Hastings and Edna Hajny of Clay Center.
