Bio

Mrs. John (Gertrude) Jupe, 80, of Route 2, West, died Monday at West Rest Haven. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, the Rev. Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Jupe was born Nov. 6, 1902, in Tours and was a lifelong resident of the Tours area. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth's Society, KJZT Society and Catholic Daughters of the American Court. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Weisinger of Elm Mott, Mrs. Adele Williams of Transylvania, La., Mrs. Leona Swatzel of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Betty Jenson of San Antonio, Mrs. Sarah Mandel of Mart and Mrs. Dianna Moore of West; four sons, Ralph Jupe of West, John A. Jupe of San Jose, Calif., and James K. Jupe and David E. Jupe, both of West; two brothers, Roman Holecek of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Victor Holecek of Austin; two sisters, Miss Christine Holecek of Waco and Miss Hattie Holecek of Orange, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Jenson, Ricky Jupe, James Jupe, Kevin Jupe, David Jupe and Eldon Jupe. Honorary Pallbearers were Danny Mynarcik, Herman Straten, David Harvey, John Zucha, Doyle Bood and Clyde Vrba.
