Bio

Ralph L. Jupe, 81, of Norman, Okla., formerly of West and Whitney, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, in Noble, Okla. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Ralph was born in Tours, Texas, the oldest son of the late John and Gertrude (Holecek) Jupe. He attended schools in Tours and West. Ralph served his country with the U. S. Army during World War II and afterward with the Army Reserves for 30 years. On July 20, 1957 he was united in marriage to Erma Lee Ellis in West. Ralph was a machinist working most of his career on South 2nd Street in Waco for Hammond Industries, Economics Laboratory, and Holiday-Hammond, Inc. In July 1992, he retired from Chrysler Technologies in Hewitt, after working for 40 years as a custom machinist. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, a member of the K.J.T. Society No. 31, and Catholic Life Association. He is preceded in death by sister, Willie Mae Weissinger and infant sister, Clara Jo Jupe . Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Erma Jupe; son, Eldon R. Jupe and wife, Johna, of Norman, Okla.; grandsons, Daniel Jupe and Douglas Jupe, both of Norman, Okla.; brothers, John Jupe, Jr., of Clovis, Calif., James Kirwin Jupe and Gene Jupe, both of Tours; sisters, Adele Williams, of Transylvania, La., Leona Swatzel, of Santa Ana, Calif., Betty Jenson, of League City, and Sarah Mandel and Diana Moore, both of Elm Mott; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
