Bio
Charles R. Kallus, 86, of Penelope, died Thursday night, November 5, in a Hillsboro hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Kotch Funeral Chapel in West. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Penelope, the Rev. Gilbert Barth officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Survivors include two sons, Gilbert Kallus and Patrick Kallus, both of Waco; one daughter, Mrs. Albin (Elenore) Svacina of Penelope; two sisters, Mrs. Julie Hykel of West and Mrs. Bertha Dudik of Penelope; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons: Mark Kallus, Bernard Svacina, Stephen Kallus, Pat Svacina, Malcom Svacina, James Svacina, Dennis Kallus and David Kallus.
