Elenora Agnes Svacina, 91, of West, passed away Monday evening, August 13, 2012, at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, at Church of the Nativity, BVM in Penelope, with Rev. Walter Matus and Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Elenora was born in Penelope, Texas, to the late Charles and Sophie (Matus) Kallus. She attended Griffin Country School and Brigham School near Penelope, and Cottonwood. On June 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Albin Svacina in Penelope. Elenora was a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, especially chopping weeds, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity, BVM in Penelope, KJZT in Penelope, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and CDA Court #829. Elenora was preceded in death by her husband on June 6, 1990; a granddaughter, Brandie Svacina; and a brother, Harry Kallus. Survivors include sons, Patrick Svacina and wife, Susan, of Arlington, James Svacina and wife, Penny, of Elm Mott, Malcolm Svacina and wife, Paula, of Penelope, and Bernie Svacina, of Birome; daughter, Rita Wright and husband, Steve, of Penelope; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert Kallus and wife, Lena, and Pat Kallus and wife, Wilma, all of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
