Ludvik Kallus Died Saturday, Buried Monday Ludvik Kallus, 77, a resident of this community for 39 years, died suddenly at his home, adjacent to the Old Waco highway, at 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning, January 29. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock at the residence and at 10 o'clock at the Catholic Church Monday morning with the Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating. The body laid in state in the chapel of the Aderhold Funeral Home until 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon, pending the arrival of a grandson who is in the army. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery. Survivors are his wife, Aloisie Kallus; two sons, Charlie of Brigman and Anton of Mt. Calm; and six daughters, Mrs. Louie Hykel of Abbott, Mrs. Joe Mikeska of Abbott, Mrs. Emil Dudik of Malone, Miss Anna Kallus of New Orleans, La., Miss Emma Kallus of Houston and Miss Emelie Kallus of Rusk, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Willie Kubala, Anton Hejl, Joseph Kotrla, John Knapp, Dominik Kramr, Louis Kramr and Paul Klimitchek. Mr. Kallus, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kallus, was born in Czechoslovakia on Aug. 24, 1866. When five-years-of-age, he moved to Fayetteville, Texas with his parents. In 1905 with his wife, the former Miss Aloisie Pavlu, and family he moved to West where he resided on a farm near West until a few years ago when he retired and moved to West.
