Anton Kallus, 72, of Axtell died Friday morning in a local nursing home. Rosary was recited Friday night. Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours with Rev. Victor Goertz as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery, Tours. Mr. Kallus was born in Ellinger in 1902 and lived in the Axtell and Mt. Calm area for the past 30 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church of Tours. Survivors include his wife, Albina Kallus; one brother, Charlie Kallus of Penelope; five sisters, Mrs. Louis (Julie) Hykel Sr. and Mrs. Hattie Mikuda, both of Abbott, Miss Annie Kallus of Hillsboro, Mrs. Bertha Dudik of Penelope and Miss Millie Kallus of Waco. According to his death certificate, he was the son of Ludwig Kallus and Aloise Pavla. He was a retired farmer and he lived in Axtell, Texas. He was buried on May 3, 1975.
