Nuckolls County Herald (Nelson, NE), Friday, April 1901; pg. 5 Judge Peebler granted the following licenses to wed: April 13, Henry Kimminau of Lawrence, age 33, and Josephine Studenbeck of Lawrence. ========================= The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, July 9, 1964; pg. 1 Henry Kimminau Obituary Henry B. Kimminau, a long time resident of this community died at his home south of Lawrence on June 30 at 9:15 a.m. He was the son of Bernard Kimminau and Mary (Hielers) Kimminau and was born at Festina, Iowa Oct. 21, 1867. He with his parents and family moved to Nebraska at the age of 12 years where he spent his life farming in the St Stephens community. He had been a member of St. Stephens parish for over 86 years and was a devoted Catholic all his life and was active in church and community affairs. He was a kind and loving father to his children to whom he alone had to be the guiding hand for many years. Although advanced in years he was always alert and active until the last three years when he became bed fast and was cared for by his devoted children. He was married Nov. 8, 1892 to Catherine Ostdiek who passed away on July 12, 1900. To this union were born five children, Ben, Ferdinand, Bruno, Lena and Aloysious. In 1901 he was married to Josephine Stundenbeck, who died in 1907. To this union were born four children John, Frank, Theresa and Kathryn. He leaves to mourn his loss four sons, Ferdinand of Villa Ridge, Mo.; Bruno of Hastings, John and Frank of Lawrence, three daughters, Mrs. Lena Mertens and Kathryn Kimminau of Lawrence, Mrs. Theresa Wermescherch of Hastings. Two brothers Herman and Joe both of Lawrence. Also 33 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wives, Catherine and Josphine two sons Ben who died in 1959 and Aloysious who died in infancy, two grandsons, LaVern Kimminau died July 1, 1961 and Philip Kimminau Febr. 1964; four brothers John, William, Frank and Bernard and two sisters Mrs. Theresa Steffens and Miss Elizabeth Kimminau. Funeral services were held Friday July 3, at St. Stephens Catholic Church. The Requiem High Mass was offered by the deceaseds grandson, Father Irenaeus Kimminau O.F.M. who was assisted by Father Kelly . Burial was made in St. Stephens cemetery. Pall bearers were six grandsons Tom Kimminau, Arthur Kimminau, Terry Kimminau, Jim Mertens, Robert Wermeskerch and Arnold Krebsbach. Relatives from out-of-town who attended the funeral included Father Ireneaus Kimminau O.F.M. of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kimminau of Villa Ridge, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Terry Kimminau and daughter of Union, Mo.; Bruno Kimminau and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Wermeskerch and family of Hastings, Mrs. Phil Kimminau of Harvard; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mertens, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Bentzinger of Lincoln; Hubert Kimminau, Mrs. Les White of Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. John Stundebeck of Salesbury, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Starke of Glasco, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. William Kimminau of Willowdale, Kans.; Hiney Kimminau, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kimminau and family of Mankato, kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kimminau and family of Hastings. ====================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, July 2, 1964 Henry B. Kimminau, a resident of the Lawrence community for 84 years, died Tuesday at his farm home six miles south of Lawrence. He was 96 years old. Kimminau was a native of Festina, Iowa, and came to Nebraska when he was a boy of 12. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Lawrence. Survivors are his sons, Ferdinand of Villa Ridge, Mo., Bruno of Hastings, John and Frank of Lawrence; daughers, Mrs. Lena Mertens and Miss Katherine (sic) Kimminau of Lawrence and Mrs. Theresa Wermeskerch of Hastings, 33 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He leaves also two brothers, Herman and Joseph Kimminau, of Lawrence. Services are pending, with the Merten-Butler Funeral Home of Blue Hill in charge.
