Zenda Citizen (Zenda, KS), Friday, October 29, 1909; pg. 1 KIMMINAU HAGERMAN Pretty Church Wedding for A Young Couple At Willowdale Miss Mary Hagerman and Mr. Joseph Kimminau were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at St. Peter's church (sic) in Willowdale, Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. Father Bast officiating. The couple were attended by Fred and Christina Hagerman, brother and sister of the bride. After the ceremony, they departed for the home of the bride's parents where a bountiful wedding dinner was served. Only relatives witnessed the ceremony. In the evening the young people were gathered in and a dance given in honor of the event. Refreshments were served and a most delightful time was enjoyed by all present. The Henning orchestra furnished the music. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hagerman and has a wide circle of friends in this side of the county. Mr. Kimminau is a practical and successful farmer of this vicinity and is well known in local business circles. They will make their home on the farm near Willowdale. The Citizen joins with their many friends in wishing the happy couple all the joys of a happy wedded life. ======================== The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, November 12, 1964; pg. 1 Joseph Kimminau Passes Away Funeral services for Joseph Kimminau were held at Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence, Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Father Edward O'Leary offered the Requiem High Mass. Interment was made in St. Stephen's cemetery. Pall bearers were Ralph Kimminau, Victor Kimminau, Albert Kimminau, Stanley Kimminau, Kenneth Kimminau and Theodore Kimminau. Joseph Kimminau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kimminau, was born on May 9, 1875 at Festina, Iowa, and died at Blue Hill, Nebr. on November 7, 1964 at 3:30 p.m. at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 28 days. Although advanced in years, he had remained active and was able to live by himself until he suffered a stroke last summer and was taken to the Blue Hill Nursing Home. He, with his parents and family, moved to the St. Stephens community in 1879. He attended school at St. Stephens. He was married to Mary Hageman at Willowdale, Kansas. They spent the greater part of their married life in Kansas, but returned to the Lawrence community 18 years ago to spend the latter years of their life. Mr. Kimminau was a member of Sacred Heart parish. He practiced his religion devotedly and left the example of a good Christian life well lived to his beloved family and many friends. He is survived by his sons and daughters, William of Superior, Felix of West Allis, Wisc., Fred of Golden, Colo., Edward of Hastings, Leo of Holdrege, Mrs. Mark Lemke of Blue Hill, Mrs. Charles Vrchota of Lakefield, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer Britten of Guide Rock, 36 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and his brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends attending the funeral came from Denver, Colo., Glenwood, Colo., Lakefield, Minn., Golden, Colo., Kingman, Emporia, Fowler, Meade and Willowdale, Kansas, Hastings, Holdrege, Superior, Blue Hill, and Guide Rock.
