Herman Kimminau Obituary Funeral services were held for Herman B. Kimminau at St. Stephens Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Father John Kelly ofered the Requiem High Mass and officiated at the burial services in St. Stephens cemetery. Pall bearers were six grandsons, Richard Kimminau, Vernon Kimminau, Bernard Miller, James Kimminau, Ervin Kimminau and Lyle Kimminau. Herman B. Kimminau, son of Bernard and Mary (Hielers) Kimminau was born November 1, 1871 at Festina, Iowa and died on August 2, 1964 at 11:00 p.m. at Mary Lanning hospital in Hastings at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 1 day. He had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill from a heart attack the past month and had been in the hospital for about three weeks. He with his parents moved to this community in 1879. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Musenbrock on May 18, 1897 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. They located on a farm south of St. Stephens. Upon retirement from active farming he moved to a home in St. Stephens. Because of failing health he spent the last couple of years of his life with his daughter, Mrs. Alex Brockman and family. During his many years of residence in this community he earned the respect and friendship of everyone who knew him. He was active in church and community work and did much to help build up the St. Stephens community. He was devoted to his family and leaves them the example of a life well lived. He is survived by his children Mrs. Levi Miller (Josephine), George Kimminau, Aloys Kimminau, Mrs. Alex Brockman (Louise), Clem Kimminau of Lawrence, Tony Kimminau, Steve Kimminau of Bostwick, Joe Kimminau of Hastings and Herman Kimminau Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo.; 32 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Kimminau. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, a daughter, Margaret and one granddaughter. Also his brothers: Henry, John, William, Frank and Bernard and 2 sisters, Miss Elizabeth Kimminau and Mrs. Theresa Steffans. Relatives and friends from a distance who atended the funeral services included: Ssiter M. Emily and Sister M. Alvin (granddaughters) from Great Bend Kansas; Mr and Mrs. Bernard Musenbrock and Mrs. Joseph Danek of Great Bend, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mertens of Cunninghan, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. John Kiminau and Mrs. Emma Mertens of Kingman, Kansas; Mrs. Les White, Miss Mary Kimminau, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Brockman, Ronie and Marita of Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kimminau Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kimminau, Benny and Joyce, Mrs. Tom Sanders and son Tommy, Mrs. Martin Landwehr and son, Martin, Mrs. Chris Kimminau of Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Leona Kanngiesser of Zenda, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kimminau of Omaha; Miss Rita Miller of Trenton, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kimminau and family of Holdrege, Nebr.; Bruno Kimminau, Mrs. John Wermescherch, Mrs. Minnie Kimminau, Edward Kimminau, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kimminau, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sidlo and sons all of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. William Kimminau of Mankato, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Miller and Jimmy of Shickley; Mr. and Mrs Wilfred Miller and children, Mr. and Mrs. William Rowley, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kimminau, Miss Margie Miller all of Superior; Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Mazour and family of Nelson; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Weingardt, and Johnnie Bencken from Red Cloud; Lyle and Bernadine Kimminau of Hutchinson, Kansas.
