Bio
Born in Germany to Sebastian and Elizabeth Stadler Poschner. She married Frank Guggenberger in Germany. They immigrated through the port of Baltimore in 1876, and headed to Texas settling in Tours. Four years after settling in Tours, Frank died. Agatha was left to care for her 12 year old daughter alone. Joseph Hofbauer, hearing about Frank's death, decided to come to America to care for his friend's widow and young daughter. After a two year courtship, Agatha agreed to marry him. They had no children, but raised several orphans. Agatha developed pneumonia working in the fields on a cold day.
