"Rite Held For Andy Wood Funeral rite for W. A. "Andy" Wood of Glen Rose was conducted Thursday afternoon at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Truett, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Lanham Mill Cemetery. Wood passed away Sunday of last week at Van. A native of Cuero, he was born on March 2, 1899, a son of John A. and Eula Matthews Wood. He was married to Oda Bell Wilson on December 23, 1917, in Somervell County. She preceded him in death in 1984. Wood was a retired mechanic and farmer and had lived in this community some 37 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Marvin of Pittsburg; five daughters, Darlene Shue and Vera Housewright both of Fort Worth, Joy Biggs of Ben Wheeler and Inez Ward and Irene Cooper both of Granbury; two brothers, Payne of Lubbock and A.V. of Muleshoe; six sisters, Gracie Ball of Littlefield, Ethel Schwab and Geneva Bradley both of California, Johnnie Ray McCord of Hutchins, Nova Dorsey of Amarillo and Edna Seymore of Sudan; 28 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mack Pugh, David Pugh, Joe Pugh, Robert Shelton, Gene Lawrence and Carl Simmons. Martin's Funeral Home of Glen Rose was in charge of arrangements."
