Bio
Roberta Inez (or "Bobbie" as she liked to be called) was born to Oda and William Andrew Wood on August 20, 1924 in the Lanham Mill Community (near Glen Rose), Somervell County, Texas according to her birth certificate. She was the fourth out of seven children and was raised farming, often recalling stories of picking cotton. She loved to travel and lived in numerous states, moving back "home" to Texas in December 1977. She was the adoring (and adored) mother of Shirley Jean Richardson (b 1948; d 1967), Delores "Dee" Petrulo (b 1957) and Annette Joyce Petrulo Wright (b 1960) and grandmother of Britton Lloyd Wright (b 1996) and Madison Jean Whitley Wright (b 1998). She married the love of her life, Marvin Lee Ward (b 1926; d 2013) in 1989. She was a sacrificial mother, grandmother, and wife, always giving to others first, making her unconditional love a blessing to its recipients. She loved to garden and cook, and was amazing at both. Her love, warmness, caring, sense of humor, compassion, and cooking is missed more than words can say. She has forever changed the lives of those who knew her. Thank you, Mom, for the gifts that you shared and the things that you taught; thank you for your strength of character, endurance, perseverance and love. Your memory will always live in our hearts and the hearts of our children, the dear "Oh My". ---provided by her daughter, Annette Joyce Petrulo Wright. Inez was married three times and she had children in the first two marriages. Her first husband was Don Richardson father of Shirley Jean. Her second husband was Jimmy Petrulo and they had two girls: Delores and Annette Joyce. Her third marriage was to Marvin Ward and she lived with him until his death.
